SAYING 6: BET ON HARD WORK
The Royal Couple, Harry and Meghan, were married on May 19, 2018. If you saw the wedding or followed on social media, you could not avoid noticing how accomplished the Brits are at ceremony and pageantry. Because they have upped their game in technology, we were privileged to view the scenes in up-close detail.
Feeling included in the pomp and circumstance of it all, I marveled at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor, England and the detail and craftsmanship, the commitment and skill it took to accomplish the brilliance and grandeur of a place of worship and celebration. The Royals selected the best.
From the designers of architecture to florals, from the expert engineers to administrators, from culinary to couture artisans we saw beauty, design, and organization. From Rev. Michael Bruce Curry’s brilliantly alive message in the wedding ceremony to 19-year-old Sheku Kanneh-Mason playing his 9-minute cello solo, the world witnessed skill and proficiency at the highest level. Inspiration and experience, mastery and readiness all were firing simultaneously.
Diligence is the muscle you use when working, practicing, training, and crafting your skill endlessly. Experts say committing to 10,000 hours of honing a gift is what it takes to become skilled. When diligence is practiced and a skill is mastered, that skill is expressed and honored ‘before kings’ – in the case of the royal wedding, literally. Work hard to become the best at whatever you love to do and trust that the work will find its room.
