Grow UpSample
If you take a look at the inside of my wedding ring, you’ll find engraved there a reference to these verses. My wife Amy and I hope these verses (among others) are true for each of us, and each other, and for so many others as well.
One of the standout parts of these verses is the apostle Paul’s plea in prayer for the faith of those in the Colossian church. So his brothers and sisters will continue to walk worthy of their Lord, Paul prays to God that they be given his wisdom and spiritual understanding, as well as knowing his will.
Wanting to see others develop in their faith is a key concern of this early Christian leader and I think he should inspire us to bring similar prayers to God. After all, the Heavenly Father who gives the fuel for maturity to those who ask is the same who rescued us from darkness into the kingdom of the Son he loves.
Such a demonstration of God’s generosity to us should only embolden us to continue asking God for the many things he promises to give us, including increased wisdom and understanding of him.
QUESTION: Who can you pray for that God will fill them with the knowledge of his will?

About this Plan
A lot of emphasis is placed upon making the leap from childhood into adulthood. At some point, it’s going to seem weird or juvenile if we haven’t “grown up”. The Christian faith shares this element of maturing and developing. A steady yet sometimes overlooked part of our Christian faith is “growing up” – and it’s not just a solo pursuit. Christians are called to help each other in maturity.
