Grow UpSample

We took a look yesterday at some tough talk at the end of Hebrews chapter 5, as it calls out those who are too lazy to understand and must be retaught the basics of their faith. But Hebrews 5 does end on a note of hope. Hope of maturity via the solid food of training our senses to distinguish between good and evil (5:14).
Next up, Hebrews 6 yearns for us to surge on, not continuing to blandly wallow at the foundations of faith. Build, build, build! But with this call to maturity comes a shocking distinction – that going over the same grounds of Christianity actually might be pointless.
Worse than an immature faith, some might have fallen away from God’s good word and sharing in the Holy Spirit. Talk about a test of your spiritual development!
QUESTION: What steps can you take to build upon the foundations of your faith – and how might you continue to do that?

About this Plan

A lot of emphasis is placed upon making the leap from childhood into adulthood. At some point, it’s going to seem weird or juvenile if we haven’t “grown up”. The Christian faith shares this element of maturing and developing. A steady yet sometimes overlooked part of our Christian faith is “growing up” – and it’s not just a solo pursuit. Christians are called to help each other in maturity.
