Yesterday we looked at three ways to keep us spiritually awake. Today, the word has become flesh! The words that we were reading from the Bible yesterday have become flesh! This text has baffled philosophers for centuries. What is the meaning of “Word”? It signifies reason, meaning, creativity, and relationship. 

The “word” becoming flesh is a significant episode in human scientific study. It guarantees that the world we live in is rational and can be deciphered. It is a special occurrence in human moral history. It guarantees that humans can find meaning and have order in their lives. 

Now, it isn’t surprising that when the moral law is broken it often results in disorder and disharmony. The person begins to feel lost and their life eventually lacks meaning. When the “word” became flesh and dwelt among us, it means we are inviting meaning, creativity and a secure relationship back into our lives. 

The “word” is not an abstract idea that we are attempting to bring into our lives. It is a person. It is Love! Jesus no longer speaks encouraging words into your tired soul. He is the Word! He is the order that corrects the chaos in our lives. 

Into our chaotic lives Jesus enters as order. Into our irrational decisions Jesus enters as rationality. Into our unreasonable expectations Jesus enters as reason. Into our meaningless existence the word, Jesus, enters as the meaning of life. Welcome him into your heart today and notice the change.
