PRAY // You don’t have to look very hard to find “love.” Love is a popular idea, but it wasn’t always—especially when it came to ideas about God. Thousands of years ago, when people imagined what God or the gods they worshipped were like, “love” was not the first word that came to mind. Angry, disappointed, jealous, vengeful—this is how they saw God. But when Jesus came, He changed everything. Jesus talked all about God being love. What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you think about God? If it isn’t love, then you aren’t imagining the God Jesus represents. If there’s anything keeping you from seeing God as loving, be honest with God about those things. Don’t worry, He can handle it! Ask God to help you see Him for who He really is: love.
