Holidays With Jesus: ChristmasSample

When my husband and I were newly married, we decided travel would be a part of our holiday fun. 

Whether it’s a vacation, road trip, weekend trip, staycation in town, day trip, a car ride to do something fun in town, or simply traveling to a park, aquarium, or zoo, we have enjoyed taking a break from all of the hustle and bustle so we can focus more on Jesus and family. 

The Christmas season is also a great time to travel to visit out-of-town family, or have our family come see us, too!

As we drive in the car, it’s fun and memorable to listen to our favorite Christmas songs, as well as our favorite worship music. I love singing in the car with my family as we go on a Christmas adventure!

Taking some time out to enjoy Jesus and family – and to nurture these important relationships (God, spouse, children, parents, grandparents, siblings, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other family members) is one of my top priorities of the Christmas season, too. It’s even better if I can combine travel, family, and extended family!

Travel, doing fun activities together, and creating lasting memories is so special and precious during the Christmas season!

In years to come, we will either say, “I’m so glad we took the time to do that” or “I wish we would’ve____!” 


If you already have regrets, be kind to yourself by forgiving yourself...realizing had you known better, you would’ve chosen better. 


Today is a brand new opportunity to draw closer to Jesus, create brand new memories with Him and family, and to choose wisely, love others, and learn all we can to live the best life possible through Him!


Prayer: “Jesus, thank You for being with me no matter where I go! You are always here with me and that is such an incredible, beautiful blessing and gift! Lord, please help us to live wisely and to number our days. Give us the grace to live a good life – and a life of love – with no regrets. Help us to make the most of each and every day...and every opportunity. We love You, Lord! In Your precious name we pray, Amen!”


Activity: consider taking a trip or check out all of the fun and memorable events that are happening in your city. Invite Jesus to be a most welcome Guest in your travel plans, day trip adventure, or in-town holiday event!  It doesn’t have to be expensive or even cost anything...It’s a time to get away to be with Jesus and family!


Activity: Plan a fun event to spend good quality time with all of your family members. Family is such a gift!
If you no longer have family close by, a church family is such a special and amazing gift, too! Of course, Jesus is the Ultimate Family Member! He will be delighted to spend time with you this Christmas season!!
