DAY 28 OF 30

Devotional: Our Father Who Protects

God is trustworthy. This means that He is true to the facts or the original, full of loyalty and reliable (2 Samuel 7:28-29, Psalm 28:7, Psalm 20:7).

God is described in different ways in scripture (Psalm 18:1-2, Proverbs 18:10, Psalm 46:7, Psalm 144:2). List some things God describes Himself as according to these four scriptures.

Testimony:

A certain Christian teacher at a local school was once accused of terrible things by some of her colleagues. She was even confronted by the headmaster, who believed all the lies. Praying for her one evening, I got these words from God: “She is my daughter and nobody should mess with my children”. It made me think about how I felt about my daughters. No-one must even think about hurting my children because I would immediately spring into action to protect them! I realised that God felt the same way about His children. The following day, the headmaster approached this teacher and apologised to her for believing the lies. God turned his heart overnight. God will always protect you.

Reflective questions:

  1. Do you find it easy to trust others and God? Explain.
  2. List some things that you need to trust God for in your family and at work.
