Expect The Extraordinary

DAY 17 OF 25

Expect new perspectives

“The teachers of the law and the Pharisees brought in a woman caught in adultery. They made her stand before the group and said to Jesus, ‘Teacher, this woman was caught in the act of adultery. In the Law Moses commanded us to stone such women. Now, what do you say?’” (John 8:3–5)

This seemed like a no-win scenario. Jesus would be condemned if he endorsed the woman's execution and condemned if he forgave her. But Jesus knew exactly how to address her accusers, “Let any one of you who is without sin be the first to throw a stone at her.”

Jesus brought a new perspective; that we've all sinned, but God offers all of us grace.

Inspired by God’s grace, Tearfund pursues Jesus’ perspective for the people they are working with and serving. When God performs the extraordinary, everything changes, including our perspectives on life.

Pray:

Our Father, we pray that you will fill us with the Holy Spirit and empower us to be good news to the poor. In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
