When it comes to dating, we all have a list—that list of qualities and characteristics we want the other person to have. And while choosing a person who has the good qualities we want is important, what’s more important is actually developing those qualities in ourselves. If we want people in our lives who are kind, or patient, or loving, or understanding, then we need to be those things, too. Rather than asking God to develop those qualities in other people, we need to focus our attention on asking Him to bring those things to light in us. This week, choose just one of the characteristics in this verse and focus on developing that in yourself. As you do, ask God to help you so that you will become more like Him.
