First, the way you feel is fragile and constantly affected by a number of ever-changing factors, some physical, some social, some mental, some hormonal, etc. To relinquish the peace-of-mind God wants you to have to the ever-rocking boat of feeling is to ensure a life of unrest, confusion, and doubt.
Second, God’s estimation of where you stand with Him is all that matters. In the end, He’s the one who will be doing the sorting of souls. In the meantime, He alone will determine what direction your life takes.
Want to know where you stand spiritually? You’d better ask Him.
