The Daily Dose: 30 Days to a Healthy Soul

DAY 2 OF 30

Love the Word

2 Timothy 2:15 "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a worker who has no need to be ashamed, rightly handling the word of truth."

How’s your Bible reading plan for the new year going? If you haven’t thought about it yet, today is a good day to stop and consider it. I know we’re only two days into the new year. I know you’re still adjusting to the post holiday blues. But if you’re looking to deepen your walk with the Lord this year and if you’re looking for growth this year and if you’re looking to get stronger this year, there is only one sure way to do it. Get into God’s Word. In his letter to Timothy, Paul urges his younger brother in Christ to pursue God in His word. He reminds Timothy that God is so pleased when we make His word and His ways our priority. Study takes time, but every minute of it is worth it.

Immerse yourself in God's Word this year. Meditate on it, and chew on it daily. God’s Word is sure; it makes wise the simple. His Word is right; it rejoices the heart. God’s Word is food for your soul, light for your path, wisdom when you need it, and hope no matter what you’re facing.

So how’s your Bible reading plan going? If you don’t have one yet, today is your chance to start one!

Questions:

Consider going through the entire Bible this year! Or simply take some time and find a year-long Bible reading plan and a journal. Write down your resolve to be in the Word daily.

About this Plan

The Daily Dose: 30 Days to a Healthy Soul

Most Christians long to be in God’s Word but don’t know where to start. The Daily Dose is a practical devotional that will help Christians get stronger in faith and think biblically about their daily living. Every day you will be given a verse of Scripture to meditate on as well as a devotional entry followed by a practical application question to process what you've read.
