Day Twenty-Six: Luke 16-Acts 2
Luke is the author of both Luke and Acts (the books flow together). Luke is writing to a Greek audience and includes details that Gentiles would be fascinated by, particularly Mary and Elizabeth’s story. The gods all had fabulous family backgrounds, so Luke will give us the most backstory of Jesus’s birth.
John is Jesus’s best friend and first cousin; John has a unique perspective on Jesus and writes from a unique place of intimacy, recording the longest ever prayer of Christ in John 17. John also underlines Jesus’s explicit claims to be God. Jesus's most savage sayings are in John.
