A Godly LifeSample

Whatcha lookin’ 4?
Isn’t it funny how your mind-set can become a self-fulfilling prophecy? What I mean by that is that you usually find what you are looking for and what you expect.
If you expect other people to let you down, if you are bracing yourself at all times, refusing to trust anybody, bitter about past betrayals and certain the next one is coming any minute, you will probably find evidence today or tomorrow that someone must have it in for you.
On the other hand, if you assume that there is good in people, if you decide to choose the most optimistic explanation for their words and actions, if you assume that God is going to do some amazing things for you today, you will probably find that too. “He who seeks good finds goodwill, but evil comes to him who searches for it” (Proverbs 11:27).
There are mountains of evil in our world, but there is also amazing good — great beauty, heartwarming miracles and wonderful people. Satan indeed is strong, but God is stronger. Mercy has triumphed over judgment; life has triumphed over death; love has triumphed over hatred. Look for mercy, life, and love, and you will find them.
