The #1 Key for Making Right Decisons

DAY 2 OF 7

Day 2 – Always More Than Enough

Sometimes we let our lack of money make decisions for us. Maybe God has been dealing with you to give away a certain amount of money, or to go on a missions trip. But you haven’t obeyed because you don’t see how you could afford it.

Listen, if God is dealing with you, take a step of faith and believe Him for the money. Don’t let money decide for you! Where God guides, He provides.

When you follow His leading, you have His supply available to help you. If He says do it, then it’s up to Him to finance it!

Maybe God has been dealing with you to do things in a more excellent way, not do everything “on the cheap.” Being a Christian doesn’t mean being cheap or always looking for a handout or a special deal.

When my first husband and I were just starting in ministry, we didn’t have a lot of money. We bought cheap things, and then pretty soon we couldn’t see ourselves having the best of anything.

One friend of mine and her husband were also starting in ministry in those days, trying to believe that Jesus wanted us to have abundant life (John 10:10) and provide all our needs (see Phil. 4:19). We still had major areas of “lack thinking” in our minds.

But one day my friend got a revelation of God’s provision. God used toilet paper to illustrate it to her. (Don’t you love how God teaches us with everyday things?) She’d been using just two or three squares at a time to save money. She felt like she was being a good steward. But God spoke to her and said, “Why are you using just three squares? I am your God, and I’m always more than enough!”

Well, when that word dropped into her spirit on top of everything else she was learning about God’s abundant supply, she grabbed hold of that roll of toilet paper and pulled with all her might! She declared, “My days of penny-pinching are over! I always have more than enough—even toilet paper!” When she was telling me about it, we laughed and laughed.

Her story helped me for years. Every time I thought about making a decision based on not having enough, I pictured her yanking on that toilet paper roll!
