What Is The Bible

The Bible is a small collection of books that were inspired by God and written over hundreds of years. It is one of the most influential books in history. It tells the story of God’s love for His people through many types of literary works: narratives, poetry, metaphors, story-telling, and more. The Bible is written in two parts: the Old Testament and the the New Testament. The Old Testament tells the story of Creation and of the people of Israel. And the New Testament tells the story of Jesus and His work on Earth and through His followers. The great thing about the Bible is that one side of the story does not exist without the other side. Everything that happened in the Old Testament leads up to the events in the New Testament. 

In each Testament, we learn that God is working through people to bring order and love to our fallen world. Throughout the Bible, we see how God loved His creation and how He wanted to redeem the world from the curse of sin, and that His ultimate act of love was to send His son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sins.
