Joy may seem like simply a human emotion, but God himself experiences joy. God actually rejoices over us, His children. The apostle Paul also names joy as a fruit of the Spirit. While religion may seem like "serious business", followers of Christ should be some of the most contagiously joyful people you could ever wish to encounter. This joy ends up being one of the greatest strengths of the believer, especially in the midst of hardships.
