884 BC Athalia, seeing her son Ahaziah dead, grabs Judah’s throne and kills the young Judean royals but misses baby Joash. Athalia herself is slain six years later after seven-year-old Joash is installed as king of the Southern Kingdom. Psalmists now foresee God reigning in Zion (Jerusalem).
