Bless Me Indeed. 

“And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.” 1 Chronicles 4:10 KJV

Jabez called upon God regarding his future. Jabez broke beyond the normalcy of his generation and stretched his request beyond the limitations of his current circumstance and trusted God. Jabez chose to seek God. He decided to connect with the only One who could remove the stigma of sorrow and to bless him indeed. 

Jabez was the highlight of his generation. The Bible expands upon the life of Jabez, in 1 Chronicles 4:9, in order to demonstrate how, with God, we can break through generational cycles, tear down walls, leap over barriers, break through generational ceilings and step beyond the cycles of the past. 

Jabez honored God and asked Him, “Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed”. Jabez broke beyond the stigma of sorrow and limitation and asked God to bless him—“indeed”. 

Jabez asks God to bless him above and beyond his current point of reference. Beyond what his past generations saw or even imagined. When God blesses you, you have no choice but to expand.  Jabez chose God over the opinion of past generations. His mom called him “sorrow”, but God called him blessed. 

Prayer: 

Father God, in the Name of Jesus, I thank You for expanding me. I thank You that Your Hand is with me. I thank You that Your Blessing adds no sorrow. I thank You for lifting every weight from off of my life. I thank You for crushing every barrier. Father, I thank You for leading my hand and guiding my footsteps. Lord, remove anything from me that’s not like You. Destroy every yoke. Remove every hinderance. Close every open door that’s meant for my destruction. Father, my heart belongs to You. Father, my Soul belongs to You. Lord, my healing is in You. You alone satisfy me and make me fat. My Heart is filled with Your Praise. My tongue sings of Your Great Name. You are my Redeemer and my Soul bows down to You. In the Name of Jesus, I thank You for enlarging my borders and expanding my territory. Everything under my stewardship honors You. With all that’s within me, I will exalt Your Holy Name. Your Name is Great and greatly magnified above all the Earth. My seed will honor You. My heart will magnify You and sing of Your greatness and mercy. Your Love is everlasting and endures forevermore. You are my King and my Lord forever. In Jesus Name, Amen.
