Be Ready to Face Problems
The first step is to identify the problem. It takes an alert and trained eye to recognize a problem when it first appears. It is the foolish who are caught unawares and are trapped in the problem before they know it.
Those who are ill-prepared to face life’s problems will be consumed by them. But, how does one prepare to face problems? Preparation does not always equate with experience. It is not necessary that we go through a situation once in order to know how to face it a second or third time. It is not practical to learn problem-solving by experience. Instead, it is better to be equipped with problem-solving skills so that we are prepared to face problems when we encounter them.
The first step is to identify the problem. It takes an alert and trained eye to recognise a problem when it first appears. It is the foolish who are caught unawares and are trapped in the problem before they know it.
The next step is to define the problem. Before a problem can be addressed, it must be defined. Defining a problem requires analytical skills. The Bible commands us to be proactive in gaining wisdom and understanding. If we follow this command, we will have the tools required to define problems when they arise. Gaining wisdom and understanding is a process that requires time and effort. It is like a bank account in which money has been deposited and is available when we need it. But unlike a bank account, the balance does not reduce when we withdraw and use it. On the contrary, it grows when it is used.
The third step is to pray for a solution. When the solution is found, tackle the problem using all the resources that are available. Courage and determination are needed to take the action that is necessary to solve a problem. If the problem is beyond one’s ability to solve, pray and submit the problem into God’s hands.
Finally, give thanks to God and remember how He delivered us. It is important to keep a mental record of the times when God came to the rescue so that we are strengthened to face the challenges that may be encountered in the future.
Lord, give me wisdom and understanding to be prepared to solve the problems that I encounter. Amen

About this Plan
Anybody can solve a problem, but it takes God’s wisdom and direction to solve it His way. Our finiteness and inability are factors to seek His dependence. While He urges us to realize that problems are transient, He encourages us to be prepared to solve problems.
