Wisdom Of The Teacher For College Students, Ch. 8Sample

Continuing in a similar theme to yesterday’s verses, the Teacher shows us another futility to life. Life doesn’t always pay off in the way we expect. There are those who believe in Karma. The Teacher would not be counted among those who believe.
He points out that the righteous sometimes get what the wicked should and vice versa. There really isn’t a fairness to what happens in life. Righteous people get cancer. Wicked people get the promotion. It’s enough to make us despair of doing the right things at times.
He returns to the instruction that has become the refrain. Enjoy the gifts that God gives you while you have life here on Earth to enjoy them. Learning to be content is really the secret to a great life!

About this Plan

The study of Ecclesiastes begins the final quarter with some unsettling teachings. Can you really understand the meaning of life for humans? Do we really get what we deserve? These and other questions are explored in our five day journey in this brief chapter.
