6 Days Of EstherSample
Nothing reveals the power of God more visibly than when He reverses a situation in your life. What a blessing it is when it looks like the situation is going downhill fast, and then suddenly He takes it in a whole new direction. That’s God doing what He does best: saving us from calamity and taking us to where He wants us to be.
I think of a lady in our church who was being misused and abused by her employer. She came to me for prayer that God would intervene. She went back a few days later to work, only to discover that her boss who had been abusing her had gotten a performance review from his bosses. The review went badly. He was fired and she was promoted to his position.
That’s how it was for Esther, as well. Haman had plotted to kill all the Jews in the kingdom on account of his hatred for Mordecai. He convinced the king to pass a law having all the Jews destroyed throughout his kingdom. When Esther learned of his plot, she could feel hopelessness setting in, as it seemed all her people would be annihilated.
But God had a plan! He used Esther’s gracious and honoring demeanor to win over the heart of the king, who chose instead to execute Haman for his treachery. While it seemed like God was far away from Esther and her people, He was working behind the scenes to bring about an outcome that saved the Jews and brought glory to His name.
God doesn’t take a long time when He is ready to move. Of course, we have to wait until He is ready, but when He moves, you discover that He is worth waiting on.
