Whom Shall I Fear

Many times, throughout scripture heaven tells us, “do not be afraid”, “FEAR NOT”, “be strong and courageous”. In fact, these words, or the same kind of encouragement, appear 365 times - one for every day of the year. Why? Because we need to hear it... often!

Throughout my life there have been many times when it’s felt like, out of nowhere, life has swung a wrecking ball at me, smashing through, leaving me knocked down - a bad diagnosis, the car engine blows up, a loved one is taken from you or someone you trust has let you down. It’s then, in the midst of these circumstances that I need to remember my God will never leave me and won’t ever forsake me.

The enemy of our souls wants us to live in crippling fear. He wants to stop us from moving forward in our pursuit of God. If we dwell in fear, hope for the future can be stolen from us.

Whenever life knocks us down, our default response needs to be one that reminds us we serve a God who loves and protects us. There is no need to fear.

Whom shall I fear? If we can really get hold of this truth, we will always be able to get up and begin to move again.  

Today, let’s remember that even if an army surrounds me, “I will not be afraid!”. My God is the on the throne and I can trust in Him. Dwell on this thought and take the time to allow the truth of His word to permeate your soul, bringing both peace and the courage to step into what He has prepared for you today.
