Reflect
What was the angel’s message to the Israelites? What promise had God made to Israel’s ancestors regarding the land of Canaan? What were the people to promise in return? Why had Joshua been such an important leader for Israel? According to verse 10, what had the people forgotten?

Lord God, you are faithful to your covenant. Keep me close to you and obedient to your will. In your holy name, I pray. Amen.
