Fully Devoted: 4-Week Devotional By Doxa DeoSample
WEEK 1 Love God with all your heart
Daily Devotion
We want to establish the discipline of spending quality time with the Lord as a daily practice – devotional time spent in prayer, Word and worship. Set out the time and the place – and embark on this “Devoted” journey with us.
Here are five easy steps of approach to help you use this devotional effectively:
- Pray
- Read the daily verse (and if possible the whole portion that the particular verse is from)
- Consider the points
- Apply it to your life (It may help to ask yourself three questions):
- What does God want to tell me or remind me about Himself? (inspiration)
- What does this tell me about myself? (implication)
- What does God want me to do about what I have discovered? (application)
5. End off your devotional time with prayer, also praying through the given prayer points.
Remember that it is the attitude of a heart sincerely focusing on God that is important in this time. May God greatly bless you as you spend quality time with Him in the next few weeks!
Day 1
Mark 12:30-31 "And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength.' The second is this: 'You shall love your neighbor as yourself.' There is no other commandment greater than these."
In what ways do you show that you love the Lord your God with all your heart?
Memorise this verse, if you have not already! Jesus considered it the most important commandment of all.
Pray for the Church: that we would love God with all our hearts. (Mark 12:30-31)
Pray for people to comprehend the greatness of God’s love towards us. (Eph. 3:17-19)
About this Plan
The great commandment is for me to love God with all my heart, soul, mind and strength and to love others as myself. What does that look like in my daily life? Set out the time and the place – and embark on this “Devoted” journey with us.
