COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN
In Junior High, I got my first girlfriend. I had a crush on a girl named Courtney and I finally got up the nerve one day at the beginning of school to ask her be my girlfriend…and she said yes! After that, I got awkward and was terrified to talk to her for the rest of the day. She would try to talk to me, but I would end up being so nervous to say the wrong thing that I just avoided her. By the end of school, Courtney found me and broke up with me. This taught me an important life lesson: Good relationships require communication.
This lesson is especially true for our relationship with God. If we claim to love God and have a relationship with him, we should regularly communicate with him as a response to that love. Good relationships require communication.
God loves you deeply and wants to communicate with you regularly. Christians do that through prayer, which is simply talking to God. Nothing fancy, no formal words…just talk to Him like you would a close friend.
Take time to pray and thank God for three things He has done to show you His love this week.
