Daily Bible Reading — Sustained by God’s Word of PromiseSample
July 25
Introduction
Today’s reading delineates the Covenant made by God to King David. The reading concludes with a testimony to God’s faithfulness.
Today’s Scripture: Psalm 89:26 (GNT)
He will say to me, ‘You are My Father and My God; You are My Protector and Savior.’
Today’s Reading
Psalm 89:19-37
Reflect
Verses 19-37 amplify and recall 2 Samuel 7:1-17 (the July 23 reading) about God’s promise to David that one of his descendants will always rule Israel. Reread verses 19-29. What promises are given? Reread verses 30-32. What are the consequences for disobeying God’s law? In what ways do verses 33-37 demonstrate God’s faithfulness? In what ways have your experienced God’s faithfulness?
Pray
Faithful God, I trust in Your promises. You are My Protector and Savior. Teach me to be obedient to Your will and to live according to Your commands. I thank and praise You for Your steadfast love. Amen.
Prayer Concern
Those planning family reunions.
Tomorrow’s Reading
2 Samuel 22:1-25: David sings a song of victory.
