Reading the Bible in Historical Sequence Part 9Sample
520 BC In Jerusalem the prophet Haggai reproves idle Jews urging them to finish the Temple and promises God’s blessing. Zerubbabel and Joshua lead the re-building. The Temple is small but the coming Messiah will glorify it. In 519 BC the regional governor sends an enquiry to Emperor Darius about the Temple. God tells Zechariah that He wants to reinstate Jerusalem and wants the remaining Jews to flee Babylon.
