Stained Glass: Eve's StorySample
We Should Trust God To Supply Our Needs
For You
The serpent began his temptation slowly and subtly. He hinted at the forbidden as if it were deserved, as if God was somehow holding back something Adam and Eve needed. We face the same temptation. We sometimes believe that God somehow is keeping what we need from us. So we try and find a way to get it on our own. Don’t fall for the serpent’s lie. God loves you. He will provide for your needs. He does so for His creation and He did for Adam and Eve. If we look to someone or something else instead of God for our needs, we will begin a path that only leads further away from Him. However, if we seek God first and trust in Him, we find that all of our needs - spiritual, emotional, and physical - will be met.
For Your Child
Ask this Question: From whom do you think we should ask for what we need? (spend a few minutes discussing the answers)
People will tell you many things about how to get what you need. They will tell you to fight and scrape for what you need. They will tell you that you should look only to yourself. Some people will even hurt you while trying to get what they think they need. God asks us to look to Him - to trust Him. Adam and Eve trusted God to meet their needs, and He gave them a beautiful garden. It was only when they stopped trusting God that things went badly.
