Life According To Jim - Lessons From Jesus' Brother, JamesSample

Have you ever wondered how you tell if wisdom is from God or from somewhere else?
James tells us that wisdom from God is always pure; it is peace loving and gentle, thinking of others first. This is a great test for wisdom! If you are not sure if the wisdom you’re receiving is from God, ask yourself if it aligns with this verse. God never contradicts himself.
Today’s reading warns us to discern God’s wisdom from our own selfish ambitions. When we are asking for wisdom, we have to lay down our plans and desires and humbly seek God’s will. His plans are always better.
Where in your life can you pray for wisdom and use this passage for guidance?

About this Plan

No one reads the book of James and thinks, “So what does that have to do with me?” Unlike many of the New Testament letters that were written to one specific church, James is writing instructions to Christians all over. During this 14-day plan, we will be challenged and encouraged by the book of James’ practical and timely message.
