Take A Mission Trip To Your WorkplaceSample
MISSION TRIP: DAY FIVE
This is the last day of our mini 5-day MISSION TRIP to your work!
Following a time of preparation, we’ve spent the last 4 days finding the opportunity, deepening a relationship and serving.
Now it’s time to share some GOOD NEWS with your co-worker(s) – news that there is hope, that there is a God who loves them, and that He sent his son Jesus to redeem them.
Wait a minute, you say – I’m no preacher!
Okay, okay… hang on a minute. You’re not a preacher, you’re just a regular working person that can be used by God.
But God did prompt you to start this MISSION TRIP, and He did open the doors to get things moving… and now in the same way, He may want to use you to bring the GOOD NEWS.
When the time is right, of course!
Nobody – not even God – expects you to give a sermon or an altar call like your pastor! Instead, what we’re talking about here is just finding the opportunity to introduce the GOOD NEWS to others.
You’ve already had a number of conversations with your co-worker(s) on your MISSION TRIP. You’ve been praying all along for each next step, and God has answered.
Now, you’re going to start your day by praying for a time to be provided and the right words to share something – even any small reference– about His Kingdom. That is surely no harder for God than anything else you’ve asked for so far.
Maybe it means just inviting your co-worker to dinner at your place this weekend. Practicing hospitality – even if you do not know your co-workers very well – is an important part of bringing the gospel (see Hebrews 13:2).
Maybe it means sharing your testimony of how God pulled you through a situation that’s not too different from what you’ve already talked about with them.
Or, maybe it means asking if you can pray for one or more of the issues that your co-worker has brought up in conversation.
Whatever your time of touching on the GOOD NEWS looks like, you can be sure of this – if you have prayed for it, then God will give the right ideas and right words for you to share (see Luke 12:12).
But BE CAREFUL!
On your first introduction of the GOOD NEWS, it rarely means taking out your Bible and laying out God’s entire plan of salvation. Instead, it is usually a natural extension of the conversations and relationship you already have.
Remember, the Kingdom of Heaven is like a mustard seed – something very small that grows into the largest of garden plants, but only over time (See Mark 4:30-32).
And, on this MISSION TRIP you’re just trying to plant a seed!
PRAYER
Heavenly Father, thank you for the GOOD NEWS and your plan of salvation. Help me to find a way to share these with my co-worker(s) so that they may be touched, and a seed of your Kingdom planted in their hearts. For your glory, I pray. Amen.
ACTIONS
Pray, and pray hard, with your prayer partner, so that you would find the way to touch on the GOOD NEWS of God’s Kingdom with your co-worker(s).
