Most of us understand that there is a cycle to our lives. One of the truths we observe is the rhythm of life and death. In order to experience new life, some things must die. 

There’s no greater example of this than Jesus. We know it is through Jesus’ death that whoever puts their faith in Him will have life. Without God there is no life. As God continually prunes us and molds us to be like Jesus, there are things in our lives that must die. 

Dying to self is not an easy thing. Crucifying our old ways of living can be incredibly difficult. But, in the dying to yourself there is great hope for the new thing God wants to create in us.
