How Should I Pray?Sample
Day #5: When and Where to Pray
“Our whole life should be a life of prayer. We should walk in constant communion with God. There should be a constant upward looking of the soul to God. We should walk so habitually in His presence that even when we awake in the night it would be the most natural thing in the world for us to speak to Him in thanksgiving or in petition. — R. A. Torrey”
WHEN should we pray?
Pray without ceasing. In the morning, in the afternoon, in the evening.
Pray when you are sad or when you are happy.
Pray when you are mad or wallowing in self-pity.
Pray when you are suffering, in trouble or in distress.
Pray when you feel alone
Pray when you need guidance/direction.
WHERE should we pray?
In private, together, alone, in bed, at the river, on the mountain, in the wilderness, in nature, on the seashore, at the well, in God’s house, in the garden and on the battlefield. Everywhere!
About this Plan
How are we to pray to an almighty and all knowing God? Jesus taught His disciples how to pray when they asked Him the same question. There is much we can learn from His example and teaching.
