Epic (Part 3): The Storyline Of The BibleSample

Judah gets two more kings: one bad and one good. We are told the only reason God does not depose Ahijah is because of his promise to David. Fortunately, Ahijah is followed by a good king named Asa.
It is fascinating to see bad followed by good. We typically think good parents raise good children and bad parents raise bad ones. There are many examples in the kingly line of Judah that break this pattern. Children can grow up in ways that are hard to explain away simply with parenting. We should pray for our children and the children we know. We want them to grow up to be people who follow God.

About this Plan

This is part three of a four part plan to read the books of the Bible that tell of the historical events. Although the Bible contains many stories, it is one epic story of God’s interactions with humanity. One day per week can be used to catch up on missed readings or for reflection. Notes are also included to assist with understanding.
