Making Spaces For GodSample
DAY 4: REST
The world gives us all sorts of ideas about how rest should look. We are told we live in an increasingly busy world and although this may hold some truth, I’ll admit that there are days I feel busy, but still seem to waste 3 hours on social media.
Maybe you finally got to take that holiday, only to find yourself back in your usual routines feeling no better off than before?
I have found that the best rest is not in stopping entirely, but in being intentional in my regular and daily habits of rest. In Matthew 11:28, God promises us a REAL rest, and gives some keys on how to find it!
Come to me.
Real rest is found when we know Jesus Christ. Stop looking in every other location and turn your attention to Him.
Walk with me.
Walking happens daily, it is not reserved for special occasions. It's the same when we walk with God. God's rhythm of rest is found in small daily habits - prayer, reading his word, taking the space to simply be with Him.
Work with me.
Rest isn’t inactivity. As we establish the right rhythms of Godly rest, we will also find ourselves increasingly effective in our service to building His Kingdom.
PRAYER
As you listen to today's instrumental - REST by Emily Jane Worship - spend time seeking God. Ask Him to show you how to take a real rest, what is He revealing to you about your daily routines and rhythms?
