Daily Readings - Romans 5:1-11
Discussion & Reflection: One of the most often referenced themes in Paul's writings deals with suffering for the sake of the gospel. Although we may not enjoy suffering, it is an inevitable reality of the Christian faith. In verse 3, Paul says “3 Not only that, but we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, 4 and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, 5 and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.” Have you endured suffering that brought you closer to God? How did the Holy Spirit help you during this difficult season?
