Listening To The Word - 1 YearSample

Peace and Power
John 20:19-22
“On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’…‘Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you… ‘Receive the Holy Spirit.’”
God’s presence in our lives is not an intellectual concept only, but a visceral reality. The presence of God is expressed through his Spirit in our lives, speaking, convicting, encouraging, loving and healing us. Our response to God’s life-giving presence in our lives is humble obedience to his commands. We live in him and he lives in us. There is no greater gift, no greater miracle than the eternal, omnipotent Creator of the universe now living within us through his Spirit, we in him, he in us. We were created for this.
Lord Jesus, thank you for living among us and making it possible for the Holy Spirit to be sent. There is no greater gift this Christmas.
