THE EXCHANGE

Surrender is not just a one-way thing, it’s an exchange between you and God. Your surrender is an invitation for God to influence you by way of His Spirit.

When you give your all to God, you give Him the opportunity to give you all that you need. Your surrender gives God access, to touch the broken and wounded parts of your soul and permission to take control, when everything seems out of control.

Your obedience to scripture is also a form of surrender. James 1:21 encourages us to humbly receive the word which has the power to save our souls. Something new happens in you as a result of your application of the word.

Surrender should be your daily posture. It is in the posture of surrender that you are exposed to His likeness, so you can become like Him. It is in that place that God can reveal who you are and His purposes for your life.  

Give God room to respond to you. To speak to those broken places, to remind you of who you are in Him and to tell you He is in control. Give it all to Him but stay long enough to receive from Him.

Prayer

Ask God to make you attentive to His voice and leading.

Ask God to give you the understanding of His word and how to apply it accordingly.
