Urbana 15 Matthew ChallengeSample
"Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock." Mat 7:24
Will you take up the Urbana 15 Matthew Challenge?
First, read all of Matthew by the first day of Urbana, Dec 27, 2015.
Second, respond to God’s word.
The challenge is especially aimed at those coming to Urbana 15, but anyone who wants to ready your heart for God’s mission can join us!
Consider this a community challenge. We encourage you to post a response to Matthew on social media. It could be a short reflection, a step of obedience you’re called to take, a poem, a picture, or even a video--anything that personally engages the story and teaching of Jesus in Matthew. Add #Urbana15 #MatthewChallenge so we can find each other and start this Urbana-wide, missions fostering, Word-centric conversation before we even arrive!
Each day of this plan provides you three questions to help you go deeper in Matthew. Here are today’s questions:
Observe What do you learn about Jesus from the genealogy (vs 1-17) and the narrative (vs. 18-25)?
Interpret: What is the significance of the titles given to Jesus in vs. 1, 21, and 23?
Apply: What does it mean to you personally that Jesus is “God with us”? Take time to praise Jesus our Messiah, our savior, our Immanuel.
