The Life of Jesus, Part 1 (1/10)Sample

Your mother is a …
Has this ever happened to you? When you were in school, did your classmates ever say negative things about one of your parents? Do you remember someone saying something that hurts the image of your father or mother? I can remember some guys at school saying bad things about my mother. It made me furious. I was very angry with them.
Often people say you cannot be angry as a Christian. Christianity is a religion of peace...turning the other cheek to people when you are hit.
Let’s take a look at this part of Jesus’ life.
Jesus is coming into the house of his Father, the temple. And he sees that it is not a place of prayer as it should be, but a marketplace. He is furious. It hurts his Father, so it angers him. And he stands up for his Father.
What Jesus shows in this story is that he was angry because the people ruined God’s idea about the temple. So you can be angry as a Christian when you have holy discontentment.
In this story, Jesus also shows to the people his authority. Discover it yourself.
