Finding True PurposeSample

Day 4 – Love is the foundation of hope
Jesus was asked by a Pharisee who was considered to be “an expert in the law” what is the most important commandment. Jesus answered by saying, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important commandment. The second is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets depend on these two commandments”.
The Bible says that part of our purpose is to love others the way that God loves us. It gives us many different examples including how we are to love the family of God. We are to love our enemies—that is, we are to actively seek what is best for them. Husbands are to love their wives as Christ loves the church. As we show benevolent, selfless love, we reflect God’s love to a lost and dying world. In this way we are doing what God did to us. “We love because he first loved us”.
Father God, I love you. May that simple but powerful message be repeated throughout my day and affect how I think and live. Amen.
About this Plan

At some point we all ask questions about why we were created, what are we supposed to do and what does God want from us. The world usually tries to answer these questions very differently than scripture. God loves you and made you for a very specific reason. Over the next six days learn how to live the abundant life God desires.
