Passionate, Consuming Love

The very last words Jesus spoke on the cross was a cry of love for His bride and a decree of faithfulness to the Father. Everything that He had set out to do for His beloved was complete. A passionate roar against all that had stood in the way of our holy union bellowed from our Savior’s bloody lips. It was finished, and He did it all for us.

The Hebrew word kalah is a homonym that can mean “fulfilled (completed)” and “bride.” Here we have a better understanding of exactly what consumed His thoughts as He surrendered His spirit to the Father. As Jesus took His last breath, you, His glorious bride, were on His mind.
