4 Keys to a Vibrant Prayer LifeSample
KEY #4 - KNOWING GOD CHANGES YOUR PRAYER LIFE
The closer you get to God, the more it changes your prayer life. When you know Him, you trust Him, and you don’t beg in prayer, saying “Oh please oh please help me!” No, when you know Him and how much He loves you, you say: “Thank You, Father, I know You want to help me and heal me and prosper me! I’m Your beloved child!”
God wants to sit down with you and hear what’s on your heart. He’s a friend you can talk to all day long. Like any good Father, He enjoys being with you! You can tell Him everything and ask Him anything. He created you for His pleasure: “Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for Thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created” (Revelation 4:11 KJV).
The more you come to know Him, the more you’ll be able to believe Him. You can’t really fully trust someone until you know them better—until you have some history together.
For example, let’s say you needed some money, and I told you, “Call my dad—he’ll be happy to loan you some money.” Now, you don’t know my dad, so you probably wouldn’t call someone you don’t know to ask for money. Or, you might be just desperate enough to do it, but you still wouldn’t know for sure that my dad would loan you the money, because you don’t know him.
But if I were to call and ask him -- his one and only daughter, the apple of his eye -- I know he’d give me the money. Why? Because I know him. I’ve spent countless hours with him. We have history. As a result, I know what he would do in a given situation. Precedence has been set.
It’s the same with God. The more time you spend with Him, reading His Word, praying and hearing His voice, the more you’ll know Him, and the more you’ll be able to trust Him. There is such a benefit to having a vibrant prayer life!
