[Who's Your One? Series] Through the Roof

DAY 3 OF 4

Do not be Derailed from your MissionKeep Moving

If you are a Christian and you are fighting the good fight, you will encounter obstacles. But please, do not allow these obstacles to derail you from your mission. Keep moving! Face obstacles with an eager expectation to see God move in your life and in the lives of those He has put in your life.

Think about the men who helped their paralyzed friend to meet Jesus. Consider the obstacles they faced in their way to Jesus:

· People: What they would think and do.

· Feelings: Fear of heights, discouragement.

· The roof: A physical barrier, a limitation.

Sometimes obstacles can lead to painful situations. People’s opinions and words can be hurtful. It is possible that these friends had to endure criticism, judgmental looks, and who knows, maybe even economic loss—we do not know if they were asked to fix the roof after making a hole in it!

Fear is always a paralyzing factor. We can have fear of men, fear of what other people can think of us or do to us if we publicly face the challenge of doing things “outside the box.” Being a Christian and preaching the gospel is not always a popular move, especially in today’s culture. Most people would not mind hanging out with you, but as soon as you start sharing your faith with them, they may even ask you to keep your faith private.

How many times have you faced discouragement after preaching the gospel? Maybe you have shared the good news of the gospel with your friends, and some of them have laughed at you. Perhaps your friends do not believe in God, and you fear to talk to them about your own experience because you do not feel you have enough preparation to face a debate with your atheist friends.

What type of obstacles are stopping you? What obstacles have derailed you from your mission? What is stopping you from sharing the gospel with your loved ones and friends in a creative and new way? Let us overcome them; let us not allow anything or anyone to stop us from sharing the love of Christ in our generation. May your love for God and them be greater than any obstacle.

Keep moving! Remember that everybody has a felt need. The man in the story we have been considering was physically paralyzed. For Jesus, the salvation of his soul was way more important than his physical need. But felt needs can be an opportunity for God to show His glory. Sometimes, even the obstacle can become the very way God uses to bring salvation to somebody’s life. Go through the roof on their behalf!

About this Plan

[Who's Your One? Series] Through the Roof

Does sharing the gospel with your friends seem like an impossible mission for you? A group of friends went through the roof and faced every limitation you can think of to help a friend in desperate need of a miracle. Let’s overcome obstacles together to share the love of Jesus with people we care about and be eager for Him to do more than you’ve ever imagined.
