I Need a MiracleSample
The Ultimate Miracle
Occasionally, some of us may wonder about difficult questions like: If we are all going to die, why does God heal anyone? God heals to show His power. He wants the person to be able to experience the power of God. People can get to know Him through miracles. We seek Him when we are in need of a miracle. We get to know Him more in these times.
David Dickson, a Scottish pastor in the 1800s, said, “On the bed of sickness, the Lord ripens His people for His glory.”
Another difficult question we may ask is: Why doesn’t God heal everyone? Many of us have prayed for people earnestly, wholeheartedly, and they still died. The reason is that God has different paths for different lives. Often, we think the best path is to die from old age in your sleep. But God may have something different. The goal of life and death is to glorify God. That’s what it’s about. It is better to have lived a life that glorified God tremendously, and died at a younger age than to have lived a mediocre life without God and died at an old age.
God doesn’t heal everyone. But we can always pray for healing. Even when we do not understand God’s purpose for that person’s life, or for our very own life, we can still choose to believe that He is our Healer. He still heals in this day and age. Believe it and know it!
Lastly, the ultimate miracle is not the healing of the body but the healing of the soul. Jesus Christ brings healing. He can heal you emotionally, relationally, spiritually, and physically. If you believe in Him, He will give you life in His name. Through Jesus Christ, we connect with God and are able to place our trust in Him. The ultimate goal of miracles is to believe in Jesus; it is not enough to believe the miracle. The miracle is an on-ramp to get you to believe in Jesus. You do not get saved, have a relationship with God, and go to heaven because you believe in a miracle. You use the miracle to believe in a higher Power—and that is Jesus Christ.
Do you need a miracle? Ask God for a miracle. Whether it is healing you need, a prodigal coming home, a miracle for your business, or a miracle in your marriage, say this prayer:
“Jesus, I come to you desiring a miracle. I lift this request to you. If I could lift it higher, I would do it right now. If I could stretch it to heaven, I would place this need on a cloud in heaven. But I can’t, Lord, and that is symbolic of the fact that I cannot make this happen, but You can. Would You answer my prayer? Do whatever You want to do, for your glory, I pray. I give this request for a miracle to You in surrender. In Your name, Amen.”

About this Plan
Do you believe in miracles? John said that Jesus performed many miracles that were never written down. However, the ones that we do get to read about were written so that we could believe that Jesus is indeed the Miracle Messiah. Join us on this plan to grow your faith and belief that miracles continue to exist in this day and age.
