DAY 22 OF 31

Spirit Adrenaline

Clay Elliott

Ready:

“…Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God. Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think.” Ephesians 3:19-20

Set:

Adrenaline is an incredible gift from God. When our bodies need a shot of extraordinary power our adrenal gland allows us to go above and beyond the ordinary. Adrenaline can also deliver the power to endure excruciating pain. When God designed the human, He thought of everything to help us along the way!

The Holy Spirit is also an incredible gift from God. Just before Jesus ascended to heaven He said He was going to send a helper – the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit delivers power to help us do things above and beyond the ordinary. And, just like adrenalin, you may not feel the Holy Spirit or even know He is there and working, but He is – even in the athlete!

You don’t have to be a star to soar in the Christian life. You just have to be tapped into the Holy Spirit. How? Tune into His purposes, not yours. Look at the compartments in your life (as a teammate, opponent, classmate, friend, enemy, your skills, conversations, ideas, etc.) and ask God how He can use you to be a difference-maker. And when you step into that compartment let Him use you to see what He might have you say or do!

Go:

1. What compartments in your life do you not include the Spirit’s power?

2. Choose a compartment in your life to give to the Spirit and then ask what He wants you to do.

3. Throughout the next week record ideas the Holy Spirit gives you and begin to implement them immediately!

Workout:

  • Acts 3:1-10
  • Acts 4:8
  • Acts 4:13

Overtime:

“Father, thank You for adrenalin that allows me to compete. Thank you for the Spirit that gives His power to me! Help me live with power for You in all my compartments. In Jesus' name, Amen.”
