Day Three - He Gives Us Good Gifts 

Hello mini FearBusters! We hope you're enjoying following our journey with the FearBusters! Remember you can watch this week's episode on YouTube!  We are on such an exciting journey with the Fear Busters so far and we have learnt so much! 

We are looking at Psalm 23 - Can you remember what a Shepherd is?  A shepherd is someone that looks after and takes care of sheep.  God is our Shepherd, we are His sheep, God looks after us and takes good care of us!  Today we are learning that God gifts us good gifts. 

READ: 

Our Bible story of the week is The Lord is my Shepherd. You can read this story in the Beginners Bible (pages 190-193) or in Psalm 23. Today we are going to look at the third part of the Psalm, learning that He Gives Us Good Gifts.

In verse 5 it says “You prepare a feast for me, right in front of my enemies.”

What do you think of when you think of a feast?  Lots of good, very yummy things?  Well, God promises to give us lots of good things! Even when things around us are so uncertain, God is still giving us good things - have a look around and name some of the good things God has given you. 

In verse 5, it goes on to say “He gives me more than enough.”

Sometimes it may feel like we don’t have enough. Maybe there is a shortage of food, or we don't have many clothes, or we may not have much money.  Whatever we have comes from God and He will always make sure that we have enough. 

In verse 6, Psalm 23 says “I am sure that goodness and mercy will run after me all the days of my life.”

As we have read Psalm 23 over the last few days, we have learnt all about the good gifts that God gives us. There is nothing bad in God.  As a shepherd runs after its sheep, so God and all of His goodness runs after us!

REMEMBER: 

The Lord is my shepherd. I have everything I need. He gives me rest in green pastures. He leads me to calm water. He gives me new strength. For the good of his name, he leads me on paths that are right. Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid because you are with me. Your rod and your shepherd’s staff comfort me. You prepare a meal for me in front of my enemies. You pour oil of blessing on my head. You give me more than I can hold. Surely your goodness and love will be with me all my life. And I will live in the house of the Lord forever. (Psalm 23)

You are bigger than my fears. You wipe away my tears. I have a voice to pray, you teach me what to say. I am brave because of you! This sickness just won't do, we tell it now to QUIT. We've had enough of it!
