There Is Purpose in the StormSample
Storms Do Come To An End
“Thankfully, storms ultimately do come to an end! And the end is always the light of a new beginning.” John M. Sheehan, Walking In The Newness Of Christ
Like every season, storms do come to an end; sometimes it may leave visible and invisible damages and scars, but there is always hope as long as there is life. What I want you to pay attention to is the fact that no season lasts forever. It must come to an end because God designed it that way; He said, “As long as the earth endures, seedtime and harvest, cold and heat, summer and winter, day and night will never cease.” - Genesis 8:22 (NIV). This promise shows that seasons will change perpetually until the earth comes to an end, so a storm will not last forever. With this promise, it is essential that we don’t make permanent decisions based on a temporary situation.
In essence, the main thing to remember during the storm is the prophetic Word God gave you before the storm arose. Remember, the Lord does not change the prophetic Word just because obstacles occur. When God speaks a word, it is for accomplishment and establishment, and it is higher than the storm. The enemy is acutely aware of the purpose of your life; he is also very aware of the Holy Spirit working in your life, so he will do everything in his power to stop you from going to the other side.
When Jesus gave the command to go to the other side to his disciples, it was pregnant with purpose; it was not a ride for leisure while journeying with God is enjoyable, but it was to accomplish a God-purpose. One the other side of the lake, there was a town that was tormented by a principality. Jesus needed to get to the other side of the lake for the principality to lose its power. (See Mark 5). You see, this ferocious storm arose because it intended to block and abort the kingdom's purpose, and this storm that has occurred today around the globe, by the name of COVID-19, is the same in nature.
Its purpose is to try to discourage, depress, bring doubt and devastate the people of God so they will not move forward in kingdom advancement. But note, when Jesus awoke from his sleep, He did not give the disciples different instructions, He did not change his original prophetic Word, He did not panic, but He turned to the fierce wind and rebuked it. He addressed the principality behind the guise of the storm, and immediately it died down. “‘Fully awake, he rebuked the storm and shouted to the sea, “Hush! Calm down!” All at once, the wind stopped howling, and the water became perfectly calm.”’ - Mark 4:39 - TPT.
While the disciples did experience some natural effects of the storm like water in their boat, perhaps a damaged sail, or minor broken things, they were still able with Jesus's authority to make it to the other side. The COVID-19 has brought some devastating effects, no doubt. Still, the same Jesus that was in the boat with the disciples is the same Jesus living in us, with the same authority to speak to our situation, circumstances, and obstacles and to see them obey the Word of the Lord.
It may take us a while to get to the other side; some of our plans and dreams may be on hold for a short while. We may have to cut back a bit and make some changes. At the same time, we wait, but rest assured the prophetic Word God gave you before this storm still stands firm in heaven, and it will manifest in this earth if you stand firm on his Word. As we try to pick up the broken pieces and rise out of the ashes, keeping our eyes on Jesus, knowing he is with us, we can stand in his authority. This principality will fall, and the purpose you were called to will manifest—hold on to His Word because you will make it to the other side!
About this Plan
According to dictionary.com, the definition of a storm is a violent disturbance of the atmosphere. We can all agree that we will face storms in our lifetime; yet, even while our atmosphere is being violently disturbed, there is good news. God is using the storm to mature you, to strengthen you, and to elevate you. Hold onto Jesus; He will never let you go.
