River Valley Church SOAP - Part 5Sample

Nehemiah realizes the previous leaders of Jerusalem were using their power for their own gain. They forced the people to pay taxes and interest on things that should have been theirs in the first place. Nehemiah puts a bold stop to that practice, and seeing the wisdom and kindness he possesses, the people of Jerusalem want to appoint him governor of the city. However, Nehemiah wants to say focused on his project of protecting and fortifying the city. Knowing his focus, Nehemiah’s enemies decide they needed to distract him. In response, Nehemiah prays that God would strengthen their hands to complete the task. And complete it they did. Rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem only took 52 days, which was an amazing feat that could only have been accomplished through the power of God.
