Pentacost: Understanding This Important Day Sample
Today we read the story of what happened on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2. The story of flaming tongues and foreign languages may seem like a strange detail for this story. However, this detail is crucial to understanding what God did on this important day in the Church's history and mission.
Pentecost is a reversal of the scattering of languages and nations that happened at the Tower of Babel back in Genesis 11. Instead of spreading the nations out, by the Spirit and through the Gospel, God is bringing them back together in the collective body of Christ.
Watch this short lesson on the Tower of Babel and then read these two stories for yourself. Thank you for joining us for this quick look at Pentecost.
