Kong Hee: God's Favor

DAY 5 OF 5

From Little To Much

Years ago, I had a friend in ministry who was a very likeable person. He had a magnetic personality that would light up the whole room whenever he walked in. Everyone got along with him, and he could preach, counsel and sing like no other. Everybody said, “This guy is going to do great things someday.”

There was one problem though. He had a very complacent attitude toward life and ministry. He would work in church for just a few hours every day, fulfilling the bare minimum required. Then he would take long vacations ever so often. He depended so much on his charismatic personality that he never really researched for his sermons. He’d just throw them together without much thought, jokingly saying, “I'll just open my mouth and God will fill it.”

After a while, his jokes got old. The members under him became uninspired by his leadership and left. He never achieved the full potential that God had deposited in him because he was not faithful to nourish his gifts and nurture his destiny in the kingdom of God.

According to Scripture, only when you are proven faithful in the little things will God trust you with much (Luke 16:10). So work every day like your least significant responsibilities and tasks are the greatest, and slowly but surely, God will expand your potential, develop your destiny, and bless you all the more!

Prayer for the day:

Pray and ask God to help you be faithful with the little so that He can bless you with much. And pray that you will never carry a complacent attitude toward your life and ministry in His kingdom.

Day 4

About this Plan

Kong Hee: God's Favor

The key to greatness in Christ is to have total reliance on Him. As you surrender fully to His perfect will to serve His purpose and His people, God will bestow favor upon your life. As Christians, our highest aspiration should be to follow Jesus’ example of being a servant to all, carrying the attitude of humility. At the same time, the Bible is clear that our calling is to "obey God rather than men" (Acts 5:29). So when it comes to man, have an attitude of humility; but when it comes to God, let your attitude be one of total obedience!
